I chose this photo purely because it represented daguerreotypes and because it was funny to look at. I don't know what this man was thinking about when he took this photo, but his expression is hilarious.
Edgar Allen Poe, known for his writing, to see him in this photo was a bit of a surprise for me. This photo and the one above are examples of photography being diverse, as well as daguerreotypes not being restricted to specific people like Abraham Lincoln.
